Internet to be cheaper as VAT on ITC, IIG, NTTC reduced to 5pc

The government has reduced the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) on International Terrestrial Cable (ITC), International Internet Gateway (IIG) and Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) to five percent.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued an SRO in this regard.

Earlier, the government fixed VAT on internet services at five percent, while the rate was 15 percent on internet-related value chain services provided by ITC, IIG and NTTN.
