Teenager gang-raped in Feni: 2 accused confess their involvement

Two people who were arrested in connection with their involvement in the gang-rape of a teenage girl in Feni's Dewanganj upazila have confessed to their crimes.

The accused, rickshaw puller Md Riad (30) and barber shop staff Chotan Chandra Shil (24) confessed their involvement in the crime before the court of Feni's Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain today after they were produced before the court.

They were arrested from different areas of Feni yesterday, said Md Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Feni Model Police Station.

According to the case statement, the victim went to visit her friend's house at Basic Industrial Area in Feni. "When the victim got down from the bus at Mohipal area of Feni around 11:00pm on Sunday night, rickshaw puller Riad told her he would take her to her friend's house and later raped her in a remote place at Dewanganj area," it stated.

The rapist then left her at Fatehpur area where she was again raped by one Chotan Chandra Shill, added the statement.

The following day, the victim filed a case against the duo under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Feni Model Police Station in connection with the incident, said the OC.
