Govt to refund part of HSC form fill up fees
The government will reimburse part of form fill up fees collected from Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalents exam candidates.
Education boards have taken the decision as HSC and equivalent examinations this year have been cancelled due to health safety concerns.
Instead, candidates would be evaluated based on their results in Junior School Certificate (JSC), Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent tests.
"We will refund a part of form fill up fees, as we will not need to have many expenditures related to exams," Dhaka Education Board Chairman Ziaul Haque told The Daily Star.
"We are calculating how much money we can refund to the students," said Ziaul, also chair of inter-education board coordination sub-committee.
He said that boards will not need to pay fees to examiners for script evaluations. There will no expense in arranging practical exams and some others.
"We will reach students with money and none will need to contact us for the refund," he said.
The education boards took Tk 2,500 as from fill-up fee from students of science while Tk 1,940 from humanities and business students.
