Chanchal and Shaon’s cover of “Juboti Radhe” removed due to copyright claim
A day after its release, the song titled "Juboti Radhe" was removed from the YouTube channel of the project IPDC 'Amader Gaan' today, due to a copyright claim made by the band Shorolpur.
The cover, arranged by Partha Barua, was sung by Chanchal Chowdhury and Meher Afroz Shaon.
Mahzabin Ferdous, Head of Brand & Corporate Communication, IPDC Finance Limited, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.
"As part of IPDC's culture to maintain high morale, integrity and transparency in its activities and involvement, we have requested relevant authority and stakeholders to investigate the matter," she said.
Mahzabin informed that they would re-publish it after resolving the issue.
Earlier at noon, Shorolpur band's vocalist Marzia Amin Turin and Guitarist Tariqul Islam Tapan claimed in a video that "Juboti Radhe" is their original track, and they have legal documents in this regard.
Shorolpur, a Sherpur based folk band, has been performing the song in various television channels and live concerts for the last 10 years.
