Jamaat hartal: Normal life in Dhaka, elsewhere

Jamaat-e-Islami’s dawn-to-dusk hartal protesting death penalty of its chief and war criminal Motiur Rahman Nizami passed off across the country without any impacts on life.

There was no report of any untoward incident anywhere in Dhaka or other parts of the country.

Vehicular movement was normal and traffic congestions were seen at some key points including Farmgate, Motijheel and Shahbagh intersections almost as usual.

Even commuters were seen waiting for buses to go to their offices and other destinations today defying this year’s first hartal.
