University of Sussex introduces scholarship for Bangladeshi students

One of the top ranked universities in the UK and the world, the University of Sussex has announced a dedicated scholarship programme for the students from Bangladesh named "Sussex Bangladesh Scholarship". For few developing countries such as India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Nigeria this university provides similar scholarships. For the first time, a top ranked university of the world has initiated a scholarship in the name of our country.

The University will waive 3000 pounds in tution fees for all Bangladeshi students who will be admitted in mentioned courses. The list of the courses covers most of the degrees from the University of Sussex and Institute of Development Studies. This scholarship will create new opportunities for the future higher study seeking students.

This achievement is the result of the continuous success and pursuit of Bangladeshi students who were studying in the university for the last few years. They showed the university that every year a significant number of students get enrolled in Sussex and IDS. Government officers with Strengthening Scholarship from Ministry of Public Administration and PM Fellowship from Prime Minister's Office students get admitted here every year.

Mahmudul Haque Moni, President of the past committee of the Sussex University Bangladesh Student Society (PhD candidate in IDS) and a member of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Cadre said this achievement is the result of combined effort of the current and former Bangladeshi students from Sussex. The proposal for the scholarship was initiated by the first committee of the student society in 2018-19 and finally got the result on November 10, 2020 after continuous effort of the past committee.

The details of the scholarship is available here:
