20-party threatens of ‘law flouting programme’
The BNP-led 20-party alliance today threatened to go for "law flouting programme and non-cooperation movement" very soon against the government's "repressive acts."
"The illegal, unelected and fascist Awami regime has kept Bangladesh besieged through absolute misuse of the state power. Agitating people will be compelled to launch law flouting and non-cooperation movement against the illegal government," BNP said in a statement.
Undersigned by BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed, also a spokesman for the party, the statement alleged that the ruling Awami League leaders and ministers are now "announcing in public to kill protesters through crossfire and encounters".
"Top law enforcement agency officials are also taking credits for the killings in crossfire."
"It cannot be ruled out that fate of the ruling party leaders, ministers and top law enforcement officials will be determined in mob beatings. Such open and arrogant declarations violating human rights will be tried in both national and international criminal courts," the statement also reads.
He said the government is gradually narrowing its "safe exit route" by indulging in indiscriminate killings, enforced disappearances, and wholesale arrests.
