Delhi Crime wins Emmy for ‘Best Drama Series’
Netflix show "Delhi Crime" has received the 48th International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series, as reported by The Times of India. The Richie Mehta directed series was awarded in a virtual event organised by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The show features Shefali Shah as a police officer pursuing the investigation of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.
The show also casts Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Gopal Datt, Yashaswini Dayama, Adil Hussain, Denzil Smith, Anurag Arora, Jaya Bhattacharya, Gopal Dutt and Vinod Sharawat, among others.
The second season of this crime thriller is set to focus on a similar event, and is being anticipated heavily by the audience.
This is India's first Emmy in any category. Celebrities like Hritik Roshan and Taapsee Pannu, among others, took to social media to congratulate the team on their win.
