The coronavirus pandemic has forced schools to shut down for close to a year now. This has hit rural children especially hard, as they don’t enjoy the same unbridled access to internet many of their urban and suburban contemporaries do. Still, yesterday was a joyous occasion for them. Going to school for a day to get books for the new year, they got a taste of the old normalcy that they desperately want to get back again.
