Dameer’s ‘Amar Jaan’ is innovative and nostalgic at the same time
Young musician and producer Dameer Khan recently released his latest track, "Amar Jaan". The song's music video is unique, consisting of footage from his parents – Zareen Durdana and Shahbaz Khan Pilu's wedding.
"When you have no one, love can help you forget the pain," says Dameer, who wrote the song during the road safety protests in 2018, as he was shocked by how the movement was quelled by a show of brute force. "Amar Jaan celebrates that naïve teenage dependency. However, the wedding video added new layers to it, since marriage is such a leap of faith."
The combination of the two aspects enhances the tonal depth of the song, as the visuals contrast the lyrics to a certain extent. Dameer is already working on releasing more songs. "I will release a 7-song EP later this month," he says, mentioning that the release will be celebrated with a giveaway contest.
