A vested quarter has built an illegal road across the Ubdakhali river in Netrakona’s Kalmakanda upazila so that dirt could be carried to a brick kiln that has no DoE clearance. Locals say that influential people built the road taking advantage of the river going dry. During monsoon, the river plays an important role in the transportation of people and goods.
