It's sad that senior artistes are not honoured - Tarin
Popular TV face Tarin is recognised for her timeless beauty and versatile talent. She is now rarely seen in front of the camera because she is very choosy about the plot of the plays she stars in. Recently, The Daily Star interviewed the celebrated actress.
What's your plan for 2016?
Tarin: I may do a job or start a business. Apart from that, I will continue acting.
What role does acting play in your life?
Tarin: I consider it God's gift. Acting is not only my profession, but passion.
Who mainly inspires you to be a successful actor?
Tarin: My family. I'm here today because of God's blessings. The make-up man, playwright and director too have made a great contribution to my success.
Childhood memories you would like to share...
Tarin: My childhood days were not like other kids. I've been involved with singing, anchoring and dancing since my childhood. I went to learn music and dance while others went home to sleep after returning from school.
What qualities make a skilled artiste?
Tarin: It's not possible to become an artiste overnight. For this, you have to be passionate and committed towards your work. It's not an easy task. One should keep in mind that there is a vast difference between a star and artiste.
What's the secret behind your success?
Tarin: Honesty, dedication, sincerity and love.
What makes you upset?
Tarin: Seeing that the senior artistes are not getting proper honour and an allowance despite advancing years. The artistes, who gave a lot in their lifelong career, depend on charity when they fall seriously ill. Why does it have to be like this?
What are the first requisites of making a good TV play?
Tarin: For this, you need an adequate budget and skilled artistes.
Who do you consider your closest friends?
Tarin: My family and my best friend Shanta.
Do you have any plans to act in films?
Tarin: I dream of appearing in a great movie, but it will depend on whether something like that comes my way.
