'iPhone 13' rumoured to feature a smaller notch and a faster screen

Despite the recent launch of the iPhone 12, Apple is reportedly already working on its next flagship smartphone. Although the Silicon Valley giant has yet to release any official information, rumours and speculations about the new 'iPhone 13' has gripped the tech world.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reported to MacRumors that the new phone will feature a smaller notch, while the Pro models will be equipped with low-power LTPO display technology for a 120Hz refresh rate.

He also claimed the iPhone 12 Pro Max's sensor-shift image stabilisation will expand to the entire iPhone 13 lineup and will feature an upgraded ultra-wide camera lens with a wider ƒ/1.8 aperture and autofocus. Additionally, the phone will feature a portless design and a larger battery.

Of the speculations, only the 120Hz display has been backed up by other analysts, including display industry analyst Ross Young, leakers Jon Prosser and Max Weinbach. At the time of writing this article, Kuo has already retracted his 'portless design' claim and now says the new phone will retain the Lightning port 'in the foreseeable future.'

Kuo speculates Apple will unveil the iPhone 13 at an event at some point in September.
