Transcom Foods opens another KFC and Pizza Hut branch
Transcom Foods Limited opened new KFC and Pizza Hut outlets on 23 January, at Wari, Dhaka. The latest branch brings their total number of restaurants opened to 33. The 33 restaurant are spread across four districts and are in 26 locations.
In an opening ceremony at Rankin Street, Wari, the event started with local dancers – dressed in traditional wear - doing dance numbers before Asna Haque, the Market Manager of Transcom started off the inauguration. She thanked everyone for being present for the opening and talked about honorary guest, the legendary Bibi Russell. Bibi Russell had grown up in Rankin Street so Transcom was delighted to have her present for the inauguration. She urged the Chief Guest Bibi Russell to say a few words.
"Old Dhaka is very close to my heart. This is the road from where I'd walk to school. I want to congratulate Transcom for their success in opening yet another Kentucky and Pizza Hut. I hope that I can be as successful in helping the craftspeople of this country," said Bibi Russell. Others present for the opening ceremony included Topu, Sharmin Lucky, Bonna Mirza, Munmun and Tusty. Topu said he was delighted to be here in the company of people such as Bibi Russell. He thanked everyone for coming and wished that everyone would join them yet again for future openings and events.
Finally the eccentric and charming, Akku Chowdhury took the mic and thanked everyone for coming to the opening ceremony. "We are a foreign company who are presenting foreign food in this country. But whilst our food may be foreign, our mindset is local and represents this country and its people. Here is to hoping we continue to get their love and support as we grow in the future!" he added.
Transcom Foods Limited started its journey in 2003 as a franchisee of Pizza Hut in Bangladesh. Three years later, TFL expanded by buying KFC as a franchise. Since then, TFL has never looked back but moved forward by opening 18 KFC restaurants and eight Pizza Hut restaurants, making the global brands more accessible to the consumers.
Transcom is next set to be on its way to Savar after which they will be focusing on opening a second restaurant in Uttara.
