A court in Khulna today rejected bail petition of journalist Abu Tyeb in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Lawyer Akhter Jahan Ruku on behalf of Tyeb submitted the petition virtually but Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Sarwar rejected it, our local correspondent reports quoting the lawyer.

Abu Tyeb is Khulna correspondent of private television channel ntv and the daily Lok Somaj.

He was arrested from his Khulna residence on April 20 in connection with the case.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek filed the DSA case the same day.

Yesterday, Tyeb was sent to jail after he was produced before a court.
