Harassment and torture by the law enforcing agencies in the name of legal action has become a common incident in Bangladesh. News of mass arrests without any warrant, brutal torture in custody and filing false charges against innocent people to extort money often taint the pages of our newspapers. However, rarely these perpetrators in uniform get exemplary punishment for their crimes that spoil the image of an entire constitutional force.
