Shantir Joy Hok: Chhayanaut’s tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam

On the occasion of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's 122nd birth anniversary, Chhayanaut hosted a virtual programme today.  The programme, titled, "Shantir Joy Hok", streamed live from Chhayanaut's YouTube and Facebook pages from 8 pm today.

The virtual concert featured musical performances, dances, and poetry recitals by Chhayanaut students and teachers. Prominent reciter Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay and Krishti Hefaz recited two poems, Bangladesh and Samyabadi, at the event.

Arpita Chakraborty Krishti, Syeda Sanjida Zohora Bithika, Rezaul Karim, Bijan Chandra Mistri, Promita Dey and Mahmudul Hasan among others performed several songs of Nazrul. The event featured two group dance performances, featuring Chhayanaut dance students Ankita Dasgupta, Elvis Mustafa, Dipanwita Anjum, Nawshin Afrin, Noshin Anjum, Fuleshwari Paromita Pushpo, Meghmala Meghosri Rahman and Ritu Paul.

Nazrul's works such as E Ki Oporup Rupe Ma Tomay, Durgom Giri Kantar Moru, Mrittu Nai Ache Dukkho, O Bhai Khanti Shonar Cheye Khanti, and Shongho Shoron Tirtho Jatrapothe among others, were performed at the event.
