Fog disrupts ferry services on two routes

Ferry operation on Rajbari-Daulatdia and Manikganj-Paturia routes were disrupted this morning due to poor visibility caused by dense of fog in the Padma River.

A ferry of Madhobilata remained stranded in mid-river while around 12 vessels could not start their operation due to the fog, report Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Riverine operation through the two routes remained suspended till 8:30am, managing director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) of Dailatdia Rafiqul Islam said.

Many vehicles were seen waiting on the banks of the rivers as the ferries could not ply causing suffering to the passengers.
