Tax exemption for MFIs’ incomes

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal wants to withdraw taxes on incomes generated from microcredit distributed by the institutions registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau to extend the reach of microcredits for entrepreneurs.

The minister is also keen to provide the same tax benefit to the incomes made from microcredits disbursed by the organisations under the Microcredit Regulatory Authority.

Kamal made the call while placing the proposed national budget for 2021-22 fiscal year today.
