15 die at RMCH Covid-19 unit in 24hrs

Fifteen people died at the Covid-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am today.

Of the deceased, seven were Covid-19 positive and eight were suspected cases, our correspondent reports quoting Dr Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of RMCH.

Of the seven dead who tested positive for Covid-19, four were from Rajshahi, two from Chapainawabganj and one from Natore.

Among the eight suspected cases who died, four were from Rajshahi and four from Chapainawabganj.

A total of 43 people were admitted to the coronavirus unit of RMCH in the 24 hours till 8am today. Currently, 297 are being treated at the unit.

During the 24 hours till 8am this morning, 143 people tested positive out of 373 people who got tested for Covid-19 in Rajshahi. The current positive rate there is 38.34 percent.

In Natore, 44 persons out of 73 tested positive. Current positivity rate is 60.28 percent.

In Naogaon, 21 tested positive while 42 samples were tested. The current positivity rate in Naogaon is 50 percent.

In Chapainawabganj, 29 out of 74 tested positive. Current rate of positivity is 39.19 percent.
