Covid-19 cases keep rising in Barishal, 343 new infections in 24 hours

At least 343 more were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Barishal division in 24 hours (till 9 am today). During this time, three people died with Covid-19 infection and symptoms.

Dr Basudeb Kumar Das, health director of Directorate General of Health Services, Barishal division, said that 343 new Covid-19 patients were identified in 24 hours till this morning. The total number of infections the day before was 160. The division now has a total of 18,637 cases, with 15,181 recoveries.

Meanwhile, on the fourth day of "strict lockdown" in Barishal, the number of people and vehicles on the road increased.

Executive Magistrate Ali Shuja said people going out unnecessarily, and without wearing masks, are being fined. Mobile courts and police check posts are operating in various places across the district.
