3 Appellate Division judges take oath

Three judges, latest additions in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, took oath this morning at the apex court premises.

The three are: Justice Mirza Hussain Haider, Justice Md Nizamul Huq, and Justice Mohammad Bazlur Rahman. Now, there are nine judges to the Appellate Division.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha administered the oath at Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge at 10:00am in attendance of Appellate Division and High Court judges.

Earlier yesterday, the law ministry issued a gazette notification on the promotion of the judges after President Md Abdul Hamid promoted them, Law Secretary ASSM Zahirul Haque Dulal said.

New judges were last appointed to the Appellate Division in March 2013, when four judges were promoted to the Appellate Division from the High Court.
