‘The Crown’ Season 5: First look of new Princess Diana and Prince Charles unveiled
Recently, Netflix released a new set of images from Season 5 of "The Crown", featuring Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.
Just as the cast was updated after the first two seasons, the show is doing the same by the time it arrives to Season 5.
Debicki will portray Diana throughout the early 1990s. She succeeds Emma Corrin, who won a Golden Globe and is nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of a younger Diana in Season 4. That season also featured Josh O'Connor (Emma) as Charles at the time when the couple met and married, inducting Diana into the royal family. He, too, won a Globe and received Emmy attention for his performance.
According to reports, Season 5 will cover Diana's astonishing interview with the BBC programme "Panorama", where she discussed the fallout of her marriage to Prince Charles, his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles, and her feeling unsupported by the royal institution. "There were three of us in this marriage" is her famous line from the sit-down.
Debicki and West will now play Diana and Charles in the final two seasons of "The Crown". They join previously cast Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, and Jonny Lee Miller as John Major.
The premiere date for Season 5 of "The Crown" is yet to be announced.
