Milone Birohe Nazrul: Chhayanaut’s tribute to the National Poet
Commemorating the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's 45th death anniversary, Chhayanaut organised a cultural programme, titled "Milone Birohe Nazrul". The event was held online yesterday at 9 pm on their Facebook page and YouTube channel.
In honour of the Rebel Poet, Nazrul artistes of Chhayanaut performed various songs, poems recitations, and dances based on Nazrul's works, themed around the poet's departure. "Milone Birohe Nazrul" featured recorded performances from many celebrated Chhayanaut artistes, including Sudeshna Swayamprabha, Mirajul Jannat Sonia, Shrabanti Dhar, Mohit Khan, Afroza Banu, Nasima Shaheen Fancy, Tanvir Ahmed, amongst many others.
Chhayanuat inaugurated the event with a graceful dance recital "Jagoya Veto Preyash Cheto Atta Niruddho" performed by the noted Manipuri dance artiste Sudeshna Swayamprabha. Priyantu Dev performed the famed Nazrul Sangeet "Keno Ano Phulo-Dor Aji Biday Bela" enticing a sense of melancholy into the listeners.
Musician Mirajul Jannat Sonia, expressed her tribute to the poet by performing the famous Nazrul Sangeet, "Biday Belay Karun Surey" in her melodious voice. After her performance, Shrabanti Dhar performed the mesmerising Nazrul songs, "Kache Amar Naiba Ele", Mohit Khan performed "He Priyo Amare Dibo Na Bhulite", Tanvir Ahmed performed "Se Chole Geche Bole", Bisbhas Ronjon Moitro performed "Sajher Pakhira Phirilo", Oyisharjo Samaddar performed "Phooler Jalshay Nirob Keno Kabi", Moidul Islam performed "Ami Chand Nahi, Chand Nahi Abhishap", alongside a few others artistes.
Eminent cultural personality and freedom fighter Syed Hasan Imam recited Nazrul's "Naiba Pelam Amar Golay Tomar Golar Har" in his video recording while renowned actor Afroza Banu recited Nazrul's "Tomare Poriche Mone"
Acclaimed music artiste Shaheen Samad also participated, and a video recording of the famed Nazrul sangeet, "Nohe Nohe Priyo E Noy Akhi Jol" played at the ending half hour of the event.
The event concluded with the song "Ami Chirotore Dure Chole Jabo" on Onnona Shila Shamsuddin's voice and a dance recital on "He Partha Sarathi Bajao Bajao", conceptualising the essence of Nazrul sangeet in poise movements.
