10 crore people to be vaccinated by December: health secretary

As many as ten crore people will be vaccinated by December, Senior Secretary of Health Service Division Lokman Hossain Miah said today.

"Around 20 crore shots of Covid-19 vaccine will arrive by that time, and we will be able to vaccinate ten crore people with those," he told reporters after an event at National Institute of Mental Health & Hospital (NIMH) in Dhaka.

However, he did not elaborate on how the goal would be met.

The government, according to health officials, has a stock of around 1.5 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including the 54 lakh doses that arrived this morning.
