Suchanda to pen her own autobiography
Eminent actor, director, and producer Kohinoor Akhter Shuchanda is all set to write down her own autobiography.
The prolific actor, who is celebrating her birthday today, confirmed the news to The Daily Star and revealed details about her new book.
The book will revolve around her childhood, her journey into the movie industry, and her time with her husband and noted director Zahir Raihan.
"Several publishers have already contacted me to try to gain the rights for the book but I am yet to decide anything about that. I am still writing my book and I will publish it once it's done," Suchanda stated.
When asked about her birthday plans, the "Behula" actress said that her family likes to surprise her on her birthday.
"I don't really do anything to celebrate my birthday. I am really thankful to my fans and my loved ones for showering me with their birthday wishes and bouquet of flowers," said the actress.
"I have nine grandchildren and they always come up with a surprise to entertain me. They will either record a song or they will showcase a drama to bring a smile to my face. They truly made my life beautiful with their love and affection," she added.
Suchanda began her career with National Film Award and Ekushey Padak winning filmmaker Subhash Dutta's "Kagojer Nouka" in 1966.
She was featured in iconic films like "Behula", "Shuorani Duorani" and "Jibon Theke Neya"—all directed by Zahir Raihan. The films are considered landmark projects in Bangladeshi cinema.
The actor has worked in more than one hundred films in her illustrious career. Some of her other notable works include "Dhirey Boho Meghna", "Chawa Pawa", "Noyontara", "Je Agune Puri", "Kacher Shwargo", and "Asru Diye Lekha".
Suchanda produced films like "Taka Ana Pai" and "Protishodh", among others. Shuchanda made her directorial debut with "Shobuj Coat Kalo Choshma", while she received a National Film Award in 2005 for producing and directing the film "Hajar Bochhor Dhore", based on Zahir Raihan's novel of the same name.
