ULAB’s Business Club holds webinar on challenges and opportunities in international trade

The Business Club of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) conducted a webinar on challenges and pportunities in international trade on September 16.  Amer Salim, Director of Knit Asia Limited and Aurum Sweaters Limited, was the guest speaker for the event. 

Salim spoke to the students regarding many challenges that he as a business leader faced over the years in the export and import of readymade garments. In his discussion, the students got several insights about the RMG industry as a whole. The speaker elaborated on the unique challenges of international business faced by Bangladeshi RMG companies, and how through innovations such as back-to-back LCs and other unique instruments, companies have overcome those challenges.

He particularly spoke on the issues related to exporting during the pandemic, and what initiatives companies are taking to step up to the plate.

 Salim discussed several opportunities for university students in the RMG sector and encouraged the students to explore jobs in the field of readymade garments.

The session was hosted by the ULAB Business Club's Organising Secretary Raiyana Nabi Nikita. The Club Advisor, Assistant Professor Niaz Patwary, gave the vote of thanks to the speaker on behalf of the club.
