How are celebrities spending Durga Puja?
Many celebrities are now busy preparing for Durga Puja, one of the biggest and most colourful festivals in Bangladesh.
Noted actor Chanchal Chowdhury will visit his hometown, Pabna. Although the actor does not get time to pay a visit to his hometown often, but during Puja, it is a must for him.
"I take a break from shooting during Puja since it is the only time, I get a chance to meet my family at my father's place," says Chanchal. "Also, there is something special about celebrating the festival in my village."
Prominent musician Kumar Bishwajit will be staying in Dhaka this year to celebrate Puja.
"I miss those days of childhood when we would begin the preparations of Durga Puja a month before," he says. "Now, we have many responsibilities. Yet, it brings the joy in our lives with a positive ambiance."
Talented actress Bidya Sinha Mim is now in Rajshahi at her maternal grandparents' house.
"Every year, I wait for Durga Puja to arrive. I love this time of the year, as we have a family gathering, and we have fun together. Also, I get a break from my busy schedule, and I get enough time to relax.
Celebrated Dhallywood actress Apu Biswas will visit her hometown Bogura this year.
"I love visiting my hometown during festivals," she says. "After my mother's demise last year, I was very upset, so I didn't go to Bogura. This year, I will visit my hometown."
Popular film actor Bappy Chowdhury's hometown is Narayanganj. Every year, he spends Puja with his family and friends there. "I keep waiting for the time of this year, to be honest," shares Bappy.
"The colourful decoration and lights make the city look different, which I like the most."
Prominent actress Aparna Ghose will have a special Durga Puja this year as it is her first Puja after her marriage. "I am excited to celebrate the festival with my family together," shares Aparna. "She informs that her husband has come on Puja vacation from abroad, and the two of them are enjoying the time travelling in different places. Recently they visited Cox's Bazar.
"This year will always remain a memorable festival for me."
Popular actress Aruna Biswas is from Manikganj. Every year, she spends some days of Durga Puja in her hometown. "I am having a great time with my mother," she says.
"People come to see me when I visit Manikganj, it makes me feel very special."
