How well are ‘Poddapuran’ and ‘Chandrabati Kotha’ faring in theatres?

Two Bangladeshi movies, "Poddapuran" and "Chandrabati Kotha", were released in selected cinema halls across the countries. Among the two movies, "Poddapuran" is running successfully in its second week across the halls.

Rashid Polash directorial "Poddapuran" stars Sadia Afreen Mahi, Prosun Azad, Shampa Reza, Joy Raj and Sumit Sengupta, among others. The movie has been well-received by the Cineplex audiences. In its second week, the number of halls also increased for the movie. The movie is running successfully in two branches of Star Cineplex, Jamuna Blockbuster, Sainik Club, and Chattrogram's Sugandha Cinema Hall.

The government-granted film "Chandrabati Kotha" directed by N Rashed Chowdhury was released on 15 October. The movie was released across 4 cinema halls across the country. The movie stars Dilruba Doyel, Imtiaz Barshon, Nawshaba Ahmed, and Jayanto Chattopadhyay, among others.

Star Cineplex's Senior Manager, Media & Marketing, Mesbah Uddin Ahmed told the Daily Star about the response of the two movies.

"Audiences were eager to watch the Bangla movie "Poddapuran" as it generated a good response from the audience during its first week. The viewer's response was so good for the movie that the movie generated increased viewership in its second week. "Chandrabati Kotha" is fairing quite well," mentions Mesbah Uddin Ahmed.

Director Rashid Polash also told The Daily Star about the positive reaction to his movie.

"I am getting a lot of positive reviews from the audiences and a lot of people are talking about my movie. "Poddapuran" talks about the life and struggle of people around the Padma River bank. This is my first feature film and I am glad I got so much love from the audiences," adds the director.
