New MacBook Pros with notches, and everything else Apple just announced
Apple just wrapped up its October 2021 event, featuring a slew of new products and announcements, including the long-awaited M1-equipped MacBook Pros. Here's a quick roundup of the most important announcements:
MacBooks Pros with a notch
Apple has unveiled a new line of MacBook Pros in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. The Touch Bar is gone, and a full-size function row has taken its place, and there's a noticeable notch at the top. There's an HDMI port, three Thunderbolt ports, an SD card slot, a headphone jack, and the MagSafe charger has made a comeback. The 14-inch version costs $1,999, while the 16-inch version costs $2,499.
New AirPods
Apple has released a new version of its AirPods wireless headphones. They resemble the AirPods Pro in appearance, but they lack interchangeable tips. The new headphones are sweat- and water-resistant and support spatial audio. They'll set you back $179.
New custom chips
Apple unveiled the M1 Pro and M1 Max, its next two custom chips. The Pro has more than 33 billion transistors, while the Max has 57 billion transistors.
HomePod Mini
Apple is introducing new colour options for the HomePod Mini, including yellow, orange, and blue. Starting in November, they'll be available for the same $99 price as last year.
