Barishal University starts taking in-person classes
Authorities of Barisal University started taking in-person classes today after 18 months, following the end of Covid-19 closure.
Although virtual classes were going on, this is the first time in 18 months the university held in-person classes, reports our local correspondent quoting Bahauddin Golap, deputy registrar of the university.
Students were allowed in the campus after washing hands at the entrance and wearing masks, said Shafiqul Islam, a student.
The students expressed satisfaction at being able to physically return to classes. "I am very happy to meet my classmates after a long time," said one of the students Tara.
"We will now try to compensate for the loss caused by the closure of in-person classes," said Jyotirmoy Biswas, secretary of the university teachers' association.
Several departments of the university are currently holding in-person classes and tests, he added.
