No quarantine for vaccinated travellers except from 13 countries: CAAB

No quarantine will be needed for vaccinated travellers coming from anywhere across the globe, except from 13 countries, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said its updated guideline issued in a circular yesterday.

The 13 countries are Armenia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

According to the guidelines, vaccinated passengers from these countries will have to be home quarantined for seven days and if unvaccinated, they will have to stay at institutional quarantine for seven days while unvaccinated travellers from anywhere will have to quarantine at home for 14 days, following arrival, said the circular.

The latest guideline will remain in effect until further notice.

The circular said that those who are interested in coming to Bangladesh must have a negative Covid-19 test result completed through the RT-PCR system. Samples must be tested within 72 hours of the scheduled flight.

Covid-19 testing is not mandatory for children under 18 years of age. Passengers under the age of 18 who have not been vaccinated can come to Bangladesh with other family members who have been vaccinated, added the circular.

If any passenger shows Covid-19 symptoms on arrival, they will be sent to a government-authorised hospital for further diagnosis or will be sent to seven-day isolation at government-nominated facilities or hotels at their own expense.

Afterwards, an RT-PCR test will be carried out again and if the result is negative, the passenger will be released, the circular added.
