Biman to resume Singapore flights after 6 months tomorrow
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to resume flights on the Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka route from tomorrow after six months amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The national flag carrier will operate its flights on Thursdays from October 28 to November 12 and every day on Saturdays, Tuesdays and every Thursday from November 13, a Biman a press release said today.
The flight will leave Dhaka for Singapore at 8:30am (local time) and will depart from Singapore at 3:50pm (local time) on the designated days.
Prospective passengers will be able to visit Singapore 14 days after taking two doses of either Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines and single-dose in Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Passengers are also required to obtain entry approval from Singaporean authorities to enter the country.
Children over two years of age must undergo Covid-19 tests and obtain certificates within 48 hours before the departure flight.
All passengers irrespective of their vaccination status will have to stay in quarantine for 10 days in a hotel following entry into the country.
On the third and seventh day of the quarantine, a rapid antigen test should be done and on the 10th day, the Covid-19 PCR test should be done, at the passengers' expense.
In case of travelling for a short time, passengers will have to undergo the Covid-19 test at Changi Airport, Singapore for which online registration and fees have to be paid in advance.
Before going to Singapore, passengers need to download the "Trace Together" app on their mobile phones.
For coming to Bangladesh from Singapore, passengers over the age of 12 must have a Covid-negative certificate within 72 hours before departure.
If unvaccinated, incoming passengers will have to stay in a 14-days quarantine at their homes.
In case of any Covid-19 symptoms during medical check-ups after landing at Dhaka airport, the respective passengers will have to stay in institutional quarantine at their expense at a government-designated hotel.
The last passenger flight from Bangladesh to Singapore was operated on May 4, 2021. But passengers could come to Bangladesh from Singapore.
