Four-time National Film Award winner Ferdous finally received an Indian visa. Around two and a half years prior, his visa was cancelled by the Indian authorities.

The actor confirmed the news to The Daily Star over the phone. He said that two days ago, he received the green signal, with which all the restrictions were withdrawn by the authorities.

"I am glad and thankful to the Indian High Commission. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and also the Indian government," shared the "Hothat Brishti" famed actor.

"I was depressed, and for the past few years,  I was praying to Almighty so that he helps ease the problem," he adds.

The actor shared that he was hurt due to not being able to work in the Shyam Benegal directorial "Bangabandhu", as there were Visa restrictions upon him.

"It will be a lifetime of lament for not being able to work in 'Bangabandhu', and for not being a part of history."

The actor said that he considers India as his second home. "My daughters used to visit Kolkata often. Sometimes they would give me a surprise visit while I was shooting, and they had been missing this opportunity since that incident." He plans to go for a vacation to India with his daughters next month.

The actor's last shooting stint in India was for the film "Dutta". At that time, he participated in an election campaign there, which is why his Visa was cancelled.

Ferdous has recently completed the shoots of "1971 Shei Shob Din" under the direction of Hridi Haque, and the Afzal Hossain directorial "Laal Kakra".

He has also shot a portion of the film "Gaangchil".
