Popular actor Shakib Khan is travelling to the United States this morning. He left Dhaka for New York today at 7 am to attend the 16th Oikko Channel I Music Awards.

The event is one of the most prestigious music awards from South Asia, and is set to be held on November 14 in New York City.

"Commemorating 50 years of our liberation, we are holding this event in New York," says the director of the event, Izaz Khan Swapan, to The Daily Star. "Many other noted actors will be there as well. We will also be honouring fifty talented individuals from Bangladesh at this event."

Shakib Khan has been busy shooting "Golui" for the last 35 days. His last theatrical release was "Nabab LLB".
