‘Universe Boss is here to do his thing’
Chris Gayle, the self-styled Universe Boss, is in Dhaka now and vows to 'do his thing' for Fortune Barishal in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
The West Indies legend arrived in Dhaka on Sunday morning and had himself tested for Covid-19 before checking in at the team hotel. He will, however, join the Barishal teammates tomorrow, given that the test result comes negative.
Gayle, the greatest T20 cricketer of all time, congratulated his team for their win in the opening match, a video message.
"Fortune Barishal. It's Chris Gayle, Universe Boss. Thanks for having me; I'm looking forward to meet each and everyone," the Jamaican said.
Gayle may be long past his prime and in the twilight of his career at 42 years of age, but he still is the biggest attraction for franchise cricket. The cricketer said he was looking forward to doing great things with his new tea,
"I'm looking forward to great things; congrats on the first win. Wish you guys all the very best in the next game. I'm going to join you guys. Universe Boss will do his thing," Gayle said.
