What should you really be studying at university? Should it be what you're most passionate about? What if you no longer care about that field by the time you graduate or realise you don't really have much to contribute to it?
Or should you be studying what your parents believe will give you the most bankable future? Then what if you're miserable the entire time you are studying it? Is your mental health stable enough to handle the four years of exams and assignments?
I personally believe your reasonings for going into a field is so unique to your journey as a person, that your justifications for getting into a field wouldn't even apply to another person making the same choices so why are we even comparing notes? What matters to you the most? Many will say they want to be happy, but does happiness not look very different in the short term and long term?
Are you thankful you came to my TED talk?
