SUST students resume protests, hold discussion on changes they want
After a quiet day at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology following the end of the hunger strike that began on January 19 demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellor, students resumed their protest with an open discussion.
Discussions were held among students at the Mukta Mancha on the campus around 7:00pm, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
The main topic of the discussion was -- "what kind of SUST do the students want" -- where they expressed their opinions as to what the university means to them and what kind university SUST "should be" for its students.
The protesting students of SUST last night withdrew their barricades from the university's main gate and the vice chancellor's residence at the request of former professors Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Yasmeen Haque.
