New iPhones, iPads and M1 chips: Here’s everything Apple just announced
Apple announced the launch of the all-new Mac Studio and Studio Display in its recently concluded 'Peek Performance' live event. Apple also revealed the new and powerful M1 Ultra chip, the latest inclusion to its Apple Silicon roster. Apple also upgraded its iPhone SE and introduced two new shades of green finishes for its iPhone 13 editions - Bold Green for iPhone 13 and Alpine Green for iPhone 13 Pro. The new iPad Air was also unveiled at Apple's Spring event.
Apple CEO Tim Cook made the announcements from Apple headquarters in California through the hour-long virtual event.
The Mac Studio and Studio Display make an incredible desktop setup for professionals looking to up their creative game. The new Mac Studio comes with the M1 Max or the newly released M1 Ultra chip. The M1 Max chip has a 10-core CPU, up to 32-core GPU and can boost a maximum of 64 GB unified memory while the M1 Ultra has a 20-core, up to 64-core GPU and can boost a maximum memory of 128GB for faster render speeds. It has 12 high-performance ports for easy connectivity. The Mac Studio will be available at prices starting from $1,999 for the M1 Max edition and $3,999 for the M1 Ultra edition.
The 27-inch 5K Studio Display is powered by Apple Silicon with the A13 Bionic chip. It has a 12MP ultrawide camera with Centre Stage and six speakers with spatial audio enabled. It is equipped with a studio-quality three-mic array for clear audio transmission. The Studio Display is compatible with the Mac Studio and will be available at prices starting from $1,599.
The newly revealed Apple M1 Ultra chip is the latest addition to the Apple Silicon lineup. It supports up to 128GB of RAM and is expected to be 8 times faster than the M1 chip. The M1 Ultra chip will be available in the Mac Studio.
Apple upgraded its most affordable phone, iPhone SE. The 5G-enabled iPhone SE is powered by an A15 Bionic chip with better battery life. It has a water-resistant IP67 with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display. It has a 12MP camera for computational photography and hosts a Home button with Touch ID. It will be available in 3 colours - Midnight, Starlight and Product Red. The device is priced at $429 for 64GB, $479 for 128GB and $579 for 256GB.
Apple also unveiled the new iPad Air. The incredibly thin iPad Air is powered by iPadOS, incorporated with the M1 chip and an 8-core CPU for fast performance. The 5G-enabled iPad Air has a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and is compatible with Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard. With a 12MP camera, the new iPad Air is capable of recording 4K videos and will be available in 5 colours, priced at $599 for 64GB and $749 for 256GB.
All the newly unveiled devices will be available worldwide from Friday, March 18.
