BTCL launches prepaid telephone, internet services

Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) today launched its prepaid services enabling the customers to avail telephone and internet services without prior deposits.

Under the Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) prepaid service, the BTCL has brought 11 internet packages from 5 mbps to 100 mbps ranging from Tk 500 to Tk 4,200.

The customers can use the telephone service for Tk 150 a month.

Mustafa Jabbar, post and telecom minister, launched the service at an event at the BTCL office in Dhaka.

The customers of the state-run company will be able to apply for this service by selecting prepaid service packages through the My BTCL app.

Customers can recharge their packages through Nagad, bKash and bank cards without any charges.

Rafiqul Matin, managing director at BTCL, and Shyam Sunder Sikder, chairman of the BTCL, were also present at the launching event.
