Jaya Ahsan is set to play a pivotal role in acclaimed Iranian director Morteza Atashzamzam's latest film, "Fereshte".

She has been shooting for the film in Dhaka for the past 20 days. A press meet regarding the project was held earlier today.

"Through this movie, I came to understand that cinema has no language. This film's director only understands his native language. Yet, I faced no difficulties while working with him," Jaya Ahsan told The Daily Star.

"This is a completely new experience for me. I play the role of a struggling woman. We come across such women in our everyday life. We have shot across many locations. Once I put my make-up on for the role, no one recognised me."

Morteza Atashzamzam revealed that the story of the film follows a rickshaw puller, and hoped that it will be memorable for the people of Bangladesh.

"Fereshte" will be released in Bangladesh in Bangla. Additionally, it will be out in Iran with subtitles.
