SL strike early as Bangladesh’s hopes hang by a thread
Sri Lanka got the breakthrough they were looking for early on the final day of their series-deciding Test against Bangladesh in Mirpur today.
Bangladesh's hopes of saving this Test rested majorly on how long would the duo of Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim -- the savior of the Tigers in the first innings -- could bat today after suffering yet another batting collapse in the last hour of the day's play yesterday.
However, putting Bangladesh in further trouble, Sri Lanka pacer Kasun Rajitha had Mushfiqur bowled with a delivery that kept a tad low on a five-day-old surface in Mirpur.
Mushfiqur, who scored an unbeaten 175, departed after a 39-ball 23 in the first hour of the fifth day's play.
Shakib Al Hasan has joined Liton in the middle and the duo has a mountain to climb.
Bangladesh are reeling at 64 for five, still trailing by 77 runs.
