Shakira and Gerard Pique allegedly on the verge of splitting up

Shakira and Pique fell in love during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa—where Shakira was singing the official 2010 World Cup song, "Waka Waka". After almost 12 years together, and two children, the couple seems to be ready to call it quits finally. 

According to a report from the Barcelona morning paper, "El Periodico", Pique has moved out of their shared home and is now living alone in Barcelona. The same Spanish newspaper also reported rumours that Shakira had caught Pique with another woman. Additionally, Pique's affliction with the party lifestyle seems to be another reason. 

Many have also taken to social media to link the current disharmony between the two with the lyrics sung by Shakira in her latest hit song "Te Felicito" featuring Rauw Alejandro.

The lyrics go as follows: 

"For completing you I broke into pieces; they warned me, but I did not pay attention" 

"My eyes are red from crying so much for you; and now, it turns out that you are sorry; it sounds sincere, but I know you well and I know that you lie; I congratulate you, how well you act."

Pique has also been absent from Shakira's social media since March. Previously, Shakira regularly shared pictures of them on social media.
