Fire at Gazipur garment factory under control
A fire that broke out at a garment factory in Bhogra bypass area of Gazipur this morning has been brought under control.
Five firefighting units brought the blaze -- that broke out at 7:30am -- under control at 10:40am, according to fire service control room.
Abdur Rahman, assistant administrative officer of Apparel Plus Limited, said the fire broke out in the cutting section on the fourth floor of the factory's seven-storey building.
There are various types of goods on that floor, including fabrics, cutting and fusing machines, he said.
All the workers managed to leave the building and no casualties have been reported yet, our Gazipur correspondent reports.
