Stocks break four days' losing streak
The stock market in Bangladesh returned to the black today after falling for four consecutive days.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 21 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 6,382 at 12:15 pm.
Turnover stood at Tk 411 crore.
Of the securities, 221 advanced, 144 declined while 54 remained unchanged.
Meghna Insurance topped the gainers' list with 10 per cent. Hakkani Pulp and Paper Mills, KDS Accessories Limited, Miracle Industries, and Legacy Footwear also advanced.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange also rose.
The CASPI, the prime index of the bourse in the port city, jumped 57 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 18,768.
