A memorandum from Islami Andolon Bangladesh, in protest of the offensive remarks by suspended BJP leaders on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was handed over to the Indian High Commission today (June 16, 2022) by Gulshan police.

A representative team of Islami Andolan Bangladesh came to the Gulshan DC's office and gave the memorandum, DMP's Gulshan division DC Asaduzzaman told The Daily Star.
"We then handed it over to the Indian High Commission," he added.

Earlier, Islami Andolon Bangladesh held a procession in Dhaka to protest the offensive remark on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Police blocked their march towards the Indian High Commission at the capital's Shantinagar area around 12:20pm.

Later around 12:40pm, a five-member delegation of the organisation left to hand over a memorandum to a Bangladesh representative of the Indian High Commission, said Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Abdul Ahad.
