Flood crisis: India offers relief support to Bangladesh
India today offered its support to Bangladesh to help manage the unprecedented flood and relief efforts in the northern part of the country.
"We would also like to convey our support and solidarity at the unprecedented flooding that we have had in northern Bangladesh," reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Jaishankar said this in his opening remarks at the seventh Joint Consultative Commission meeting in New Delhi.
Pointing out that north-east India too had been hit by flood, he said, "I would like to take the opportunity to convey that if in any concrete way, we can be of assistance to you in the management of flood and relief efforts, we would be very glad to be supportive. It would be in keeping with our relationship."
