Ronaldo tells Man Utd he wants to leave
Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has told the club that he wants to leave should the right offer arrive, multiple outlets reported.
Last week, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes met with Chelsea co-ower Todd Boehly to discuss the striker's situation and a possible move to Chelsea. Reports indicated that Bayern Munich were also made aware of his situation and that Napoli were interested.
Now, United have been told that Ronaldo wants to leave. He has 12 months remaining on the contract that he signed when he moved from Juventus last summer.
The 37-year-old expressed his desire to compete for the biggest trophies in Europe and a lack of Champions League football at Old Trafford proved to be the final straw.
Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions last season, finishing as Manchester United's top scorer, but they still could not finish in the top four in the Premier League.
