The government is likely to announce a new routine of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent exams on Sunday (July 17, 2022).

Education Minister Dipu Moni will hold a press conference regarding SSC and equivalent exams on Sunday, said the ministry's Public Relation Officer Abul Khair today (July 14, 2022).

The authorities had to postpone the SSC and its equivalent exams on June 17, for an indefinite period as the flood situation in the country's northeast region worsened.

The exams were scheduled to be held from June 19 to July 6.

Earlier, it was deferred for about four months because of the coronavirus pandemic. Usually, the SSC exams take place in February.

"The education minister is overseeing all the matters related to the SSC and its equivalent exams," said Dhaka Education Board Chairman Tapan Kumar Sarkar.

Earlier on July 6, Dipu Moni said the flood-affected students who lost their textbooks will be given new books.

The government will hold the postponed SSC exams only after handing over a new textbook to flood victim student, she said.
