TikTok removed 3.5mn Bangladeshi videos in Jan-Mar 2022 for community guideline violation
TikTok has removed almost 3.5 million videos from Bangladeshi users from January to March this year, states TikTok's recent Community Guidelines report for the first three months of 2022. As per a recently shared press release, Bangladesh had a removal rate of 95.8 per cent before any views and 97.9 per cent before 24 hours. A proactive removal rate of 99.2 per cent was used by TikTok to remove 3,475,456 Bangladeshi videos. With these figures, Bangladesh came in 8th on TikTok's list of countries with the most videos removed from January to March 2022. With 14,044,224 videos removed, the US came in first place, followed by Pakistan with 12,490,309 videos removed.

In last quarter's report by TikTok, from October to December 2021, Bangladesh also ranked 7th in the overall list of countries with the most video removals.
From October to December 2021, the number of videos removed from Bangladeshi users was 2,636,372.
The report also revealed that in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war, TikTok's safety team focused on the Ukraine war and removed 41,191 videos, 87% of which violated its policies against harmful misinformation. TikTok also labelled content from 49 Russian state-controlled media accounts. The platform also identified and removed 6 networks and 204 accounts globally for coordinated efforts to influence public opinion and mislead users about their identities.
